Getting the Most From Your HEPA Filter Unit

You can buy a portable HEPA filter unit here.

Austin Air units are portable, easy to wipe down, easy to use (just plug in and turn the dial), and made in the USA.

For best results, place the unit in the middle of the room of your house where you spend the most time, or near the main HVAC intake.

The pre-filter should be checked (and cleaned, if dirty) periodically. You can clean it in place by vacuuming the outside of the unit with your vacuum cleaner's brush attachment. The HEPA filter lasts up to 5 years.

  1. Shop online for the model and color you want. They are available at, as well as on Amazon and eBay.
  2. When your unit is delivered, unpack it.
  3. Place it near the central return OR near where you spend most of your time at home.
  4. Plug it in.
  5. Turn it on high for at least an hour so it can catch up on cleaning your air.
  6. Go online to register your unit for your 5-year manufacturer warranty.
